A NEW MACHINE lEARNING eXPERT AT NEUROLEARN

Neurolearn takes the next step in the development by hiring the top-student Oscar Thörn to the team in Örebro. Oscar has a data science degree from Örebro University and an additional Master’s degree in machine learning from Georgia Tech, US ongoing. “ I want to work with what is cutting-edge in machine learning and the most prominent techniques” says Oscar. “Neurolearn is an exciting company and we have the future ahead of us and it is exciting to be a part of driving and shaping the company’s future.”

The advantage with small companies is that we are flexible and agile. What is most important with AI and machine learning these days is that a lot is actually possible to apply in real situations. I am specifically interested in image, video and other types of sensor systems (e.g perception). NLP; text and speech-related models are also areas where applications really work in practise.

Oscar has in his thesis also combined AI with another subject matter - music! “During one year I have worked with a couple of systems. One robot-drummer who can accompany a human pianist and one robot who dances to a person that plays the piano. It was very creative and stimulating to work with art and artists who thinks differently than us engineers, Oscar says.
